Beacon Award
Wow, congratulations to all our students, faculty and families in Clinton! The Clinton Public School District this year received a Beacon Award, the highest award attainable through the Mississippi School Boards Association's Lighthouse School Leader program. CPSD is one of only four districts in the state to earn a Beacon Award this year, for our outstanding academic achievements.

The Beacon Award was presented to our district during the MSBA conference on Nov. 15. Go Arrows!
AP Honor Roll
Way to go Arrows!! CPSD is Mississippi's only school district to earn a place on the College Board's AP Honor Roll this year! This honor is only given to school districts who see both an increase in enrollment in Advanced Placement classes, and an increase in the percentage of students who score 3 or higher on the AP exams.

Click here to read Dr. Burchfield's blog about this honor.

Have you heard the news?
We are a STAR District!!

Clinton is one of only four Star districts in the state, and the only one in the metro area. We have three Star schools: Clinton High School, Sumner Hill and Clinton Junior High. Sumner Hill is the highest-scoring school of ANY school in the state!! Northside also hit the scoring benchmark for Star status, but will not be officially ranked since only the third grade is tested there.

Let Us Cater
Are you planning a holiday party or other school event? Consider our Child Nutrition Department as a catering option. One of our district goals is to teach children how to make healthy lifestyle choices. Foods offered on our catering menu include fresh fruit and veggies, low-fat ice cream, baked chips and no-fat or low-fat desserts. And though they're healthy, they can certainly hold their own taste-wise.

Click here to see the catering menu and price list. Click here to download an order form. Call Child Nutrition Director Regina Ducksworth at (601) 924-4002 for more information.
